The DivaCup is another great form of internal menstrual protection. This soft, reusable, menstrual cup collects the flow rather than absorbing it, so the vaginal tissues aren't dried out as they can be by disposable tampons.
The DivaCup is approved by the FDA and is made of soft medical grade silicone, which is latex-free and hypoallergenic.
The DivaCup is comfortable and convenient. It holds up to an ounce of fluid and should be emptied several times a day.
To Use:
Press the sides of the DivaCup together and fold in half again (the rim of the cup can be moistened with water if needed) forming a U. Hold the folded menstrual cup in place with your thumb and index finger. Relax your muscles and separate the labia with your other hand. Push the bottom of the U into the vaginal opening. Continue pushing the cup up and into place. A slight twist or tug can be helpful at this time to guarantee that a seal was made.
Detailed instructions come with your order. The DivaCup is not returnable.
Menstrual cups also work great when assisted with GladRags. Some women find they do not need any extra protection with a menstrual cup, but some do. Please also consider the The Keeper Menstrual Cup or Jade and Pearl Sea Sponge Tampons, which are also great internal forms of protection.
The Diva Cup is made in Canada.
