Rave Reviews

Women choose GladRags cloth menstrual pads for a variety of reasons. Many are concerned with the waste and pollution produced by disposable products. Some have allergies or chemical sensitivities and find comfort in soft cotton pads.  Most women want to save money (especially today!). An added benefit is that many women find an attitude shift, a connection to their cycles, which often turns menstruation into a more positive experience. Little Gems -- Kim
I just started using the GladRags pantyliners and the Keeper menstrual cup. I am in love and don't know why I didn't find these when I was younger. It's amazing at how much trash you create with just a monthly. All the tampons that are flushed and the pads that are thrown out. I love how these little gems are reusable and are easy to maintain. I will never go back to disposables.

20+ Years -- Sally M.
I was going to say I've been using Glad Rags for 20 or 25 years, but the "About Us" section says they opened in 1996, so maybe that's not true. I know I've worn out 10 or 20 of them, and have many left. My first ones were in plain white, so I think it was at the beginning. Now that I'm in my 60s, I use them for leaks and other issues, and I've recommended them to many friends. Do try them out, and give them to girls in their early teens. My life would have been so different if I hadn't had to wear those horrible big pads chafed and deteriorated, and all those tampons. Any woman should have at least 5 or 10.

Teaching Girls Period Positivity
Thank you for GladRags! I have been using these since the early '90's and have never looked back. I love that I don't fill up garbage cans with used pads and they are so comfortable. When my daughter starts her cycle, I will get her a kit as she has seen me use my pads all of her life. I love that she asks questions so that I can talk to her freely about her body and why women have a menstrual cycle. GladRags have helped me teach her to embrace what it is to be female in a such a positive way.
One of the Best Purchases I've Made -- Savannah C.
I have been using my Moon Cup for almost 3 years, and I love it. I will never be without it again. It didn't take long after starting to use it that my periods became significantly lighter (lost an entire days worth of bleeding) & I stopped having cramps altogether (I used to have them so bad that I had to take a sleeping pill to make it through the day). One of the best purchases I have EVER made!
How Did I Live Without These? -- Leslie
Disposable pads have been a necessary evil most of my life. I cannot use tampons yet the pads cause irritation and even rawness. When I learned of GladRags several months ago, I scoured the site. I read every page top to bottom. I admit to snickering when I read a testimony, "How did I live without these"? Well, I am here to say that I agree with that lady. My life has changed for the better since I started using them. A few months ago, my husband (the sole provider) lost his job. I soon had a new appreciation for the Gladrags realizing that buying pads would have added a financial burden that we just could not have overcome. So, with renewed joy in my previous purchase of GladRags, I send my testimony and thanks for a wonderful product that has served well in multiple situations.
Celebrating a Decade -- Jessica
It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since I purchased a box of pads or tampons. I love my Keeper and reusable pads! I don't know how much money I have saved, but it has to be in the $100s. I also love the fact that once I have my Keeper in, it is with me through my whole cycle. There is no forgetting it or running out of it. Thank you for making truly awesome and long-lasting products.
Life-Changing -- Beth G.
I can't fit everything I want to say in a review! I've been using GladRags for almost a year now and never use anything else. I wear liners daily, and GladRags has changed both my physical and emotional experience with my body. My period is not an illness to be treated any more, and my daily experience with my body is one of comfort instead of constant irritation. When I first tried them it was to be nicer to the planet, but what I've received more than anything is being nicer to myself.
Beyond Satisfied! -- Natalie G.
I found out about alternative menstrual products from a friend's blog one year ago (It never even occurred to me there might be another way to manage your period out there!). I looked at GladRags and LunaPads. I chose GladRags after a few weeks of educating myself about the differences in product and care. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've been a happy user for over one year now. While I still have heavy flows, I don't have as many cramps, which is amazing! I told my sister and friends immediately. While I've interested several people, I've yet to get a convert, so I've decided to take advantage of one of your many sales/specials (free shipping and mismatched pad sale!) to gift some GladRags to a friend who is on a tight budget but very interested. I'm looking forward to her post about how wonderful these pads are!
Phasing Out Disposable Pads -- Amy W., Birmingham, AL
Wow! My second cycle using GladRags, and I already can see what the raves are all about. I live in a warm, humid climate, and I like how GladRags don't trap perspiration and heat like disposables. You can reposition GladRags easily -- something you can't do with the adhesive on conventional pads…I look forward to phasing out my conventional products and building up my stock of GladRags. Thanks for providing a quality alternative to feminine protection.
Traveling with The Keeper Cup -- Jen D., San Francisco, CA
I just returned from a six-month trip in the Southern Hemisphere and The Keeper was a savior. I didn't have to hunt down random tampons in strange places, nor did I have to pack baggies full of wasteful products! I always had it with me. It is always reliable. And, it makes me feel good to know I'm not mucking up an already fragile waste system in places with under-developed infrastructure or in the pristine beauty of nature.
GladRags Lifespan -- Susan R., Madison, WI
Just wanted to add my voice to all the women who love your product. I bought my first set in 1996 and have never looked back. I remember when I first told my mother that I was using washable menstrual pads and she said (I kid you not), "Is the world coming to an end?!"

The pads I bought 13 years ago are still in good shape and, though I've bought a few more over the years to supplement them, they still get used every month. I love GladRags so much. No more moist, chafed feeling! And I'm happy to know that I'm doing one small part to cut down on the waste stream. Thank you so much for your wonderful product!!

Moon Cup to the Rescue -- Abby H., Washington, DC
I was recently stuck overnight in the Atlanta airport - never a good experience and to top it off I unexpectedly got my period.  Fortunately, I had my brand new Moon Cup. It felt so good not throwing anything away. It is so much more comfortable than tampons are, especially at the end of my cycle. I'm telling all my friends!

Biking -- LD, Tonkawa, OK
Over the past several years I have used both Glad Rags cloth menstrual pads and The Keeper menstrual cup. I love both products very much. Due to having extremely heavy periods I often used the pads as a 'just-in-case' backup. Normally through I used the pads at night and The Keeper during the day. I am a daily bicyclist. I like having the internal protection The Keeper provides when I ride. I started using both products after I started using cloth diapers on my son. If I cared enough for the planet not to use disposables on him for 2 1/2 years, why would I use them for the 20-30 years that a woman has periods? I found that they paid for themselves within a year. After I had been using them I also had a friend that contracted Toxic Shock Syndrome and almost lost her life. That became another reason not to use chlorine-bleached, petroleum-products against my skin and my body. I find The Keeper very handy when traveling and camping too! No purse or bag required to tote supplies and nothing to dispose of either. I highly recommend both products to every woman.

A Teen and Her Keeper Cup -- Andrea
My name is Andrea and I got The Keeper for my 17th birthday from my mom, and I love it. After about a year, my periods became lighter, and I hardly even get cramps anymore. I can't believe more girls don't know about The Keeper. Whenever the subject comes up, I always mention The Keeper; it rocks. I'm 22 years old now, and the money and garbage I've saved in 6 years makes me feel good. Thanx!

Comfort with GladRags -- Sarah F., Nampa, ID
I heard about GladRags when I was reading a magazine about green alternatives on the market. The idea caught my attention- even if I wasn't sure I could handle cleaning up something like that- the sight of my own blood makes me sick. But I determined to try, and a few weeks later I ordered my first starter set of GladRags. I couldn't wait for them to get here, and they made it the day my period started!

I have had very long and heavy periods since I started at the age of 13. Disposable pads were a nuisance because of their inability to shape themselves to me- I'd often have a sliver of paper bunched up between my legs instead of a pad, their unerring sense of when I needed them NOT to leak- and inevitably they did, and the PMS they contributed to every month. When I tried tampons, I would get sick within 2 hours, so after a few months of that, I stopped. But pads aren't much better, with their itchy feel, the plastic irritating my skin, and the mess of cleaning up after a disaster.

Well, I will never use disposables again if I have the choice. My GladRags are so much more comfortable and easy to use. I love that I can just rewash them (and it's fun and easy!) and use them again the same day; before I felt bad for not completely saturating a pad before I threw it out- after all, those things cost money!- but now I can change pads as often as I need to for freshness. There is no heavy odor- from either my pads or the trashcan. I can sleep comfortably at night, instead of in a contortionist position to keep my pad from leaking. I can customize them to fit MY period, and not some average statistic of what a "heavy" period is. What is even better- my PMS has decreased, since I no longer have harsh chemicals near my body for a week at a time. I'm more relaxed, so I'm easier to be around, and can focus on taking care of me instead of worrying about the next problem with my disposable pads.

The kit I bought included the soaking basin, and I absolutely love it! It is easy to clean and contains all my GladRags in one place. Plus it is so simple and, well, blue, that I think it's an adorable addition to my home. Thank you so much for your products. They have made a difficult time every month much more bearable. I look forward to my period every month now!

Lifespan of the Keeper -- Ellen K., Portland, OR
I just realized that I've been using my Keeper cup for 10 years! That's a lot of money saved and travels where all I carried was the cup- no worry about finding or running out of tampons! I'm now getting ready to buy the "A" size, and looking forward to another 10 waste free years!
